Sad Sweet Dreamer

Sweet Sensation SAD SWEET DREAMER

Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience
Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience

Been another blue day without you girl
Been another sad summer song
I've been thinking about you girl
All night long

Been another sad tear on my pillow
Been another memory to tell me you're the one, girl
I kept thinking about you girl
All night long

Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience
Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience

Been another long night and I've missed you girl
Been another story from those endless magazines
Can't help thinking about you girl
All night long

Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience
Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience

Was so happy when I found you
But how was I to know
That you would leave me walking down that road

Been another hard luck story
Been another man who thought that he was oh so strong
Been thinking about you girl
All night long

Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience
Sad sweet dreamer
It's just one of those things you put down to experience
Sad sweet dreamer

Show me this life

I’m just looking to live to learn how to live
Slowly starting to see it’s me I will need to forgive
Cuz it seems like I’m stuck in-between what I know
I want a kid, I know now
With too many choices of which way to go
Insight's a no show

I don’t need a miracle
I’m much more predictable
I just need you to show me this life
And if you ain’t too critical
We could be something beautiful
I just need you to show me this life (Take me home tonight)
Just a fantasy away
Your naked love laid next to me
My ecstasy

If I can’t decide to offer my choice
Does it mean I’m replacing, erasing your beautiful voice?
So every time you would tell me a lie, I could happily take it
If all relations would idly flow by, I wouldn’t even fake it

I don’t need a miracle
I’m much more predictable
I just need you to show me this life
And if you ain’t too critical
We could be something beautiful
I just need you to show me this life (Take me home tonight)
Just a fantasy away
Your naked love laid next to me
My ecstasy

I thought I'd see it for myself
But this life ain’t, it ain’t for me alone
And here I thought I could keep it for myself
But you can slice the light right off my sun
With your razorblade caress of love

I don’t need a miracle
I’m much more predictable
I just need you to show me this life
And if you ain’t too critical
We could be something beautiful
I just need you to show me this life (Take me home tonight)
Just a fantasy away
Your naked love laid next to me
You’re just a fantasy away
Your naked love laid next to me
My ecstasy

Hobo Bill's Last Ride

Ho-o-bo-o Billy
Riding on an eastbound freight train
Speeding through the night
Hobo Bill, the railroad bum
Was fighting for his life

The sadness of his eyes revealed
The torture of his soul
He raised a weak and weary hand
To brush away the coal

Ho-o-bo-o Billy
No warm lights flickered around him
No blankets there to fold
Nothing but the howling wind
And the driving rain so cold

When he heard a whistle blowing
In a dreamy kind of way
The hobo seemed contented
For he smiled there where he lay

Ho-o-bo-o Bill
Outside the rain was falling
On that lonely boxcar door
But the little form of Hobo Bill
Lay still upon the floor

While the train sped through the darkness
And the raging storm outside
No one knew that Hobo Bill
Was taking his last ride

It was early in the morning
When they raised the hobo's head
The smile still lingered on his face
But Hobo Bill was dead

There was no mother's longing
To soothe his weary soul
For he was just a railroad bum
Who died out in the cold

New York Medley

I'll say goodbye to all my sorrow,
and by tomorrow I'll be on my way.
I guess the Lord must be in New York City.
I'm so tired of gettin' nowhere—
seein' my prayers going unanswered.
I guess the Lord must be in New York City.

So here I am, Lord, knocking at the back door.
Ain't it wonderful to be where I've always wanted to be?
For the first time I'll be free in New York City.

Another hundred people just got off of the train
and came up through the ground—
while another hundred people just got off of the bus
and are looking around—
at another hundred people who got off of the plane
and are looking at us—
who got off of the train and the plane, and the bus
maybe yesterday.

It's a city of strangers.
Some come to work, some to play.
A city of strangers.
Some come to stare, some to stay.
And every day, the ones who stay

can find each other in the crowded streets and the guarded parks;
by the rusty fountains and the dusty trees with the battered barks;
and they walk together past the poster walls with the crude remarks—
and they meet at parties through the friends of friends, who they never know.
'Will you pick me up, or do I meet you there, or shall we let it go?'
'Did you get my message? 'Cuz I looked in vain.'
'Can we see each other Tuesday if it doesn't rain?'
'Look, I will call you in the morning, or my service will explain.'
And another hundred people just got off of the train...

I miss New York—the feeling worsens every year.
I miss New York—and I live here.
Where is that place that doesn't grace I used to know?
Half red with rot, where did it go?

I miss the nights of getting home at 5 AM,
and many friends—it's true I do miss them.
I miss New York and would return there if I could,
but I'm afraid I'm lost for good.

Some will say that there's a tack or choose to this.
Some will say it's really just my youth I miss—
and love me while I'll be or can't—I love even so.

Some folks like to get away,
take a holiday from the neighborhood.
Hop a flight to Miami Beach or to Hollywood.
But I'm takin' a Greyhound down the Hudson River line—
I'm in a New York state of mind.

It's been so easy livin' day by day—
out of touch with the rhythm and blues.
But then I need a little give and take—
the New York Times and the Daily News.

Comes down to reality, and it's fine with me 'cuz I've let it slide.
I don't care if it's Chinatown or up on Riverside.
I don't have any reasons—I left them all behind.
I'm in a New York state of mind.
I'm in a New York ...

'Cuz another hundred people just got off of the train.
And another hundred people just got off of the train.
And another hundred people just got off of the train.
Another hundred people just got off of the train.

Moonglow

It must have been Moonglow,
Way up in the blue,
It must have been Moonglow,
That led me straight to you

I still hear you sayin'
Dear one hold me fast,
And I start to prayin'
Oh Lord, please let this last,
We seem to float right through the air,
Heavenly songs seem to come from everywhere,
And now when there's Moonglow,
Way up in the blue,
I always remember,
That Moonglow gave me you
That Moonglow gave me you

We seem to float right through the air,
Heavenly songs seemed to come from everywhere,
And now when there's Moonglow
Way up in the blue,
I always remember,
That Moonglow gave me you,
That Moonglow gave me you,
That Moonglow gave me you
