I'm not driving anymore

You tell me I can't slow down
you tell where I've gotta be
I speed into the darkness
but I swear that I can't see a thing in front of me
You know its true
I'm not driving anymore,
I can't keep up with you.

You're closing in behind me
Well I've got headlight in my eyes,
Don't you get too close to me
Can't you see that we'll collide,
and end up casualties
there's just no room
I'm not driving anymore,
I can't keep with you

So leave me on my own,
Run me down and race away from me
I've got nowhere to go to,
And I don't think I can get back on my feet,
back on my feet

You came right out of nowhere
Eyes wide and terrified,
and I can't put my brakes on,
And I can't swerve to save your life
cause then I'll lose control,
and I can't choose
I'm not driving anymore
I can't keep up with you

So leave me on my own
Run me down and race away from me
I've got no where to go to
I don't think I can get back on my feet,
back on my feet.

Get me out of harm's way,
Can't you see I'm paralyzed,
I wanna fade out gracefuly,
but you keep keeping me alive
to face another day,
can't you see I'm through
I'm not driving anymore,
I can't keep up with you.
Can't keep up with you

Tell me how long have I got, God
I wanna end this earthly toil
Till this diet-light expires
I wanna go swimming in the soil
and not come up for breath
sit in God's room
I'm not driving anymore,
I can't keep up with you.

I'm unfit for consumption
I don't know how to play my part,
I swear I'm all alone in this thing,
I'm a blind man driving in my car,
into oblivion
let it come soon.
I'm not driving anymore,
I can't keep up with you.

Heather Ale: A Galloway Legend

From the bonny bells of heather,
They brewed a drink long syne,
Was sweeter far than honey,
Was stronger far than wine.
They brewed it and they drank it,
And lay in blessed swound,
For days and days together,
In their dwellings underground.

There rose a King in Scotland,
A fell man to his foes,
He smote the Picts in battle,
He hunted them like roes.
Over miles of the red mountain
He hunted as they fled,
And strewed the dwarfish bodies
Of the dying and the dead.

Summer came in the country,
Red was the heather bell,
But the manner of the brewing,
Was none alive to tell.
In graves that were like children’s
On many a mountain’s head,
The Brewsters of the Heather
Lay numbered with the dead.

The king in the red moorland
Rode on a summer’s day;
And the bees hummed and the curlews
Cried beside the way.
The King rode and was angry,
Black was his brow and pale,
To rule in a land of heather,
And lack the Heather Ale.

It fortuned that his vassals,
Riding free upon the heath,
Came on a stone that was fallen
And vermin hid beneath.
Roughly plucked from their hiding,
Never a word they spoke:
A son and his aged father –
Last of the dwarfish folk.

The king sat high on his charger,
He looked down on the little men;
And the dwarfish and swarthy couple
Looked at the king again.
Down by the shore he had them:
And there on the giddy brink –
“I will give thee life ye vermin,
For the secret of the drink.”

There stood the son and father
And they looked high and low;
The heather was red around them,
The sea rumbled below.
And up spoke the father,
Shrill was his voice to hear:
“I have a word in private,
A word for the royal ear.

“Life is dear to the aged,
And honour a little thing;
I would gladly sell the secret”,
Quoth the Pict to the King.
His voice was small as a sparrow’s,
And shrill and wonderful clear:
“I would gladly sell my secret,
Only my son I fear.

“For life is a little matter,
And death is nought to the young;
And I dare not sell my honour,
Under the eye of my son.
Take him, O king, and bind him,
And cast him far in the deep;
And it’s I will tell the secret
That I have sworn to keep.”

They took the son and bound him,
Neck and heels in a thong,
And a lad took him and swung him,
And flung him far and strong
And the sea swallowed his body,
Like that of a child of ten;
And there on the cliff stood the father,
Last of the dwarfish men.

“True was the word I told you:
Only my son I feared;
For I doubt the sapling courage,
That goes without the beard.
But now in vain is the torture,
Fire shall not avail:
Here dies in my bosom
The secret of the Heather Ale.”

El Paso Blue

I’m beginning to feel just like a book
I folded some pages I think you overlooked
Words you’ve read, you couldn’t see it
It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing

More than I could ever paint
I used all the colors I stored inside my bank
My favorite shade, El Paso Blue
Reminds me, reminds me of you

This isn’t what you asked for
This isn’t what I asked for

You say it might be better
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say it might take longer
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say, 'oh, it makes us stronger.'
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say…

If I had a choice I’d be a saint
But I am a sinner who is over it, over it
Call it a loss or call it fate
It’s still a beautiful, beautiful thing

Under and in, over and out
Time takes times to weather
Give me some space and I’ll pretend
I’ll make you believe me again

This isn’t what you asked for
This isn’t what I asked for

You say it might be better
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say it might take longer
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say, 'oh, it makes us stronger.'
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say…
Believe

Catch me if you can
Catch me if you can

'Cause we're falling and falling and falling
To pieces and pieces
This isn’t what you asked for

You say it might be better
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say it might take longer
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say, 'oh, it makes us stronger.'
No, it's never, it's never, it's never
And you say…
Believe
Believe

Remember This!

[Chorus]
Yeah, they say when we grow up
You'll understand when you're older
Guess I'm still a kid, I don't know it
If I'll ever let go of this (Yeah)
Say goodbye to the old me
We ain't friends anymore, you don't know me (Real music)
I know I could die any moment
If I do just remember this

[Verse 1]
Yeah, handouts create lazy people I'm not impressed with
You want something in life, then why don't you go and get it?
Actions speak louder than words do, it's pretty quiet, isn't it?
Look at the world we live in, defined by comment sections
Surround yourself with people that challenge how you think
Not people that nod their head and act like they agree
Those people that cut you open just to watch you bleed
Always be yourself not the person that you pretend to be, no!
These people gon' tell you that you will never make it
Then when you do, they gon' say they knew you were goin' places
That's just how it works, next thing you know you'll be overrated
Hearing people say they miss the “old you,” it's crazy ain't it?
And perfect people don't exist, so don't pretend to be one
I don't need pats on the back from people for my achievements
When I die I wanna know that I lived for a reason
Anyone can take your life, but not what you believe in, no

[Chorus]
Yeah, they say when we grow up
You'll understand when you're older
Guess I'm still a kid, I don't know it
If I'll ever let go of this
Say goodbye to the old me
We ain't friends anymore, you don't know me
I know I could die any moment
If I do just remember this

[Verse 2]
Yeah, don't take opinions from people that won't listen to yours
If money's where you find happiness, you'll always be poor
If you don't like the job you have, then what do you do it for?
[Lyrics from: https:/lyrics.az/nf/perception/remember-this.html]
The cure to pain isn't something you buy at liquor stores, nah
The real you is not defined by the size of your office
The real you is who you are when ain't nobody watchin'
You spend your whole life worried about what's in your wallet
For what? That money won't show up in your coffin, woo!
Yeah, anger's a liar, he ain't got no respect
I fell in love with my pain and I slept with my regrets
Happiness saw it happen, maybe that's why she up and left
Joy called me a cheater, said she ain't coming back
I've always had a problem with relationships
But that's what happens when you see the world through a broken lens
Mistakes can make you grow, that doesn't mean you're friends
Who you are is up to you, don't leave it up to them, no

[Chorus]
Yeah, they say when we grow up
You'll understand when you're older
Guess I'm still a kid, I don't know it
If I'll ever let go of this
Say goodbye to the old me
We ain't friends anymore, you don't know me
I know I could die any moment
If I do just remember this

[Verse 3]
Yeah, they say you got into music
You signed up to be hated
That's kinda weird cause I don't remember signing my name up
Coming from people that give advice but never take none
I like my privacy, but, lately, I feel it's invaded
I heard that life's too short, don't let it pass you by
We waste a lot of time crying over wasted time
It's not about what people think, it's how you feel inside
My biggest failures in life are knowing I never tried, woo!
I look at the world from a different angle
People change; even Satan used to be an angel
Think twice before you're bitin' on the hand that made you
Don't believe what you believe just 'cause that's how they raised you
Think your own thoughts, don't let them do it for you
Say you want a drink, don't wait for people to pour it on you
Cut out the lies, stay close to the people you know are loyal
Grab your own glass and fill it, don't let your fear destroy you, woo!

Please stay

We shared a special moment
I think you felt it too
I know you wanted more
Right now, this is the best that I can do
If I gave you too little too late
How is that a no
I don’t wanna give you up
But I don’t wanna let you go, please stay

I just need a litte time
And a little help to find
All the words to say, please stay
Before you walking out the door
I know you wanted more
So give me one more day, please stay

You were looking after you
I was looking after me
Sometimes it’s hard to know the difference
Between what we want and what we need
I might not have said all the right things
But I know the way I feel
Give me one more chance
Baby we can make this real, please stay

Don’t wanna hear you say goodbye
‘Cause there’s a million reasons why
We shouldn’t let it end this way, please stay
I don’t wanna see you go
I need to let you know
Some things are hard to say, please stay

Please stay
Don’t wanna walk away, please stay
We shouldn’t let it end this way
I know you wanted more
Just give me one more day,
Please stay
